Four officers with the Seymour Police Department issued 23 citations and 108 warnings and made three arrests during an Operation Pullover enforcement period Sept. 27.

The focus of the period was to have officers work the top five intersections — all on Tipton Street — for crashes in the city. No crashes were reported during the 29½-hour period, according to a news release from Capt. Carl Lamb.

Lamb said the four officers worked overtime and were paid from a traffic safety grand administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

This enforcement period concluded the grant period for the 2018 fiscal year. The department plans to seek additional grants for traffic safety for fiscal year 2019, Lamb said.
