October book discussions announced

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more this month at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries.

The groups are open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement. The books are available to check out at the library checkout desks.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cracker Barrel, 211 N. Sandy Creek Drive, Seymour. Information services manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “Ink and Bone” by Lisa Unger. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program as you check out the book from the checkout desk.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets the third Wednesday of each month at the library, 120 W. Main St., will gather and share thoughts on “We Need to Talk About Kevin” by Lionel Shriver at 6 p.m. Oct. 17.

Fantastic Fiction will discuss “Turtles All the Way Down” by John Green at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St. Led by various staff members, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.

The Medora Library book discussion group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 to talk about “The Storyteller” by Jodi Picoult. The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the library, 27 W. Main St.
