Eagles sweep Hornets

MEDORA — Lanesville posted a 25-16, 25-11, 25-18 win over Medora on Friday at the Hornets Nest.

Kailen Flynn led the Hornets with seven kills and three of the team’s six aces. Keyla Newby had six blocks and Bailey Morris finished with 15 digs.

Medora (8-17) will host South Decatur on Monday to conclude regular season play.

Tigers drop SAC match

CROTHERSVILLE —  Lanesville won a marathon Southern Athletic Conference match over Crothersville 14-25, 17-25, 25-15, 27-25, 15-12 on Thursday.

Maddie Riley went 51-for-60 on her hits with 23 kills and Bekah Cook totaled five kills. Kaitlin McVey and Makayla Helt each had four aces for the Tigers.

The Tigers (9-13) will play Trinity Lutheran in the first round of the West Washington Sectional on Thursday.
