Ms. Deborah Ruth Collins, 42 of Seymour passed away at Schneck Medical Center on September 28, 2018. She was born at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY on March 10, 1976 to the late Kenneth and Shirley O’Brien Collins.

In January 2000, Debbie came to live at the Developmental Services, Inc., Evergreen Home. She made many friends at her home, the workshop and many past and current staff members. She was a member of Special Olympics, loved going on trips to camp, swimming, the zoo, shopping, dances and many other activities. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, but she’d celebrate all the holidays happily.

Debbie will be terribly missed by her housemates, workshop friends, staff and Guardian. There was no way to meet Debbie and not fall in love with her. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings, Steve Martin, Bruce Martin, Bill Martin, Diane Bevers and Aaron Collins.

Friends may visit from 4-8 pm Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN. The funeral service will be at 10 am Thursday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel. Concluding Services and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
