Three girls and a boy are busy collecting donations in hopes of winning the Seymour Oktoberfest prince and princess contest.

The girls vying for the princess title are Kinley Bishop, 7, daughter of Kendra Moore and Cody Bishop; Lillianne Forister, 9, daughter of Paige Forister; and Anniston Rennekamp, 8, daughter of Paul and Angie Rennekamp.

The only boy to sign up for the prince contest was Dayton Smith, 10, son of Kevin and Jodie Smith.

All money has to be turned in at Old National Bank by 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Then at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the contestants will be recognized on the north stage at Third and Chestnut streets in downtown Seymour. The winning prince and princess are determined by who raises the most money.

After the crownings, prizes will be distributed to each of the contestants who turned in money.

The final task will be participating in the Oktoberfest parade at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6.

Beta Kappa chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sponsors the contest. Residents of Jackson County between the ages of 6 and 10 are eligible to participate.

Funds raised will benefit various Beta Kappa philanthropic projects and ways and means. Some of the annual projects are Jackson County United Way, Community Provisions of Jackson County, Reins to Recovery Inc. Therapeutic Riding Center, Clarity Cares, Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Pantry, Easter Seals and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
