Zack Brown will be honored at tonight’s Milwaukee Brewers game against the Detroit Tigers at Miller Park.

The Seymour native was named the Brewers organization’s Minor League Pitcher of the Year on Sept. 6, and will receive his award tonight.

Playing for the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers this summer, Brown finished 9-1 with a 2.44 ERA, with 36 walks and 116 strikeouts in 22 games (21 starts) with the Shuckers. He led both the Southern League and organization in ERA and ranked among the league leaders in WHIP (2nd, 1.05), opponent batting average (2nd, .207) and fewest walks per nine innings for starting pitchers (2nd, 9.91).

Brown was named the Southern League’s Most Outstanding Pitcher and was a midseason and postseason All-Star for Biloxi.

Brown, who was drafted in the fifth round of the MLB draft in 2016 with the 141st pick, just completed his third season of professional baseball.
