CROTHERSVILLE

Haves Turner, age 77 of Crothersville, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home with his wife and family surrounding his bedside. Born on January 23, 1941 in Lucky Fork, KY, he was the son of Wilburn and Oma (Riley) Turner. On July 29, 1967, he married Sharon Lynn Stigdon.

Haves was retired from Cummins Engine Company. He was a member of The Point where he enjoyed serving his church as full time staff in facility maintenance and custodian as well ushering and working the welcome center alongside his wife, Sharon. He was a member of the Crothersville Volunteer Fire Department for several years. Haves also was a volunteer for Enter His Courts and enjoyed watching IU Basketball, Cincinnati Reds and NASCAR, wood working and sport shooting. He loved spending time with his family and helping his neighbors with activities such as mowing.

Survivors include his wife Sharon; daughter, Maria (Kevin) Cole; sons, Kevin (Diana) Ackeret and Jon Haves (Beth)Turner; grandchildren, Janissa (Ben Taylor) Cole, Jordan Cole, Whitney Ackeret (Travis) Taylor, Chase (Caitlin Mills) Ackeret, Isaiah Turner and Lauren Turner; great grandchildren, Harrison and Liam Taylor, Rowan Taylor; siblings, Louise Turner (Kenny) Forrest, Dewey (Phyllis) Turner and Marie Turner (Danny) Lee.

Haves was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Turner.

Pastor Joel Burbrink will conduct services at 11:00am Monday, October 1, 2018 at The Point. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and then from 10:00am until service time all at the church. Burial will follow services at the Riverview Cemetery. Memorials can be made thru the funeral home to The Point, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or Enter His Courts.
