Dale Edward King, 73, of Columbus, passed from this life at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mr. King retired as corporate sales manager from General Electric in 2001 where he had served for 31 years.

Dale enjoyed spending time with family especially his children, grandchildren and friends and playing cards. He attended Columbus Free Methodist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Chet Martin officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Free Methodist Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Bartholomew County Human Society.

Dale was born July 14, 1945 in Seymour, the son of Charles E. and Della Mae Bowman King.

He married Sue Robertson on May 28, 1967.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years; daughter, Lisa (Charles) Grissom of Franklin; son, Jason (Elisha) King of Columbus; grandchildren, Laramie (Blaise) McWhirter of Indianapolis, Allie King of Columbus, Kennedy King of Columbus, Riley King of Columbus and Cole Staggs of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Liberty McWhirter and Paislee McWhirter both of Indianapolis; brother, Raymond ( Betty) King of Columbus; sister, Charlotte Helt of Crothersville; mother-in-law, Ida Robertson of Franklin; sister-in-law, Donna Robertson of Paris Crossing; brother-in-law, Darrell (Sheila) Robertson of Fort Collins, Colorado; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lee Ann King; brother, Charles E. King II; and brothers-in-law, Roger Helt, Gerald Robertson and Dean Robertson.
