Charles Walter “Chuck” Sundell, 85 of Seymour, formerly of Mooresville, IN passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at The Lutheran Community Home. He was born March 11, 1933 in Amoy, China to the late Charles Conrad and Gertrud Busse Sundell while his father was serving in the United States Foreign Service.

Chuck married his wife of 61 years, Esther Geisel Sundell on May 11, 1957 at First Lutheran Church, Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He received his entire education in Canada in St. John, Newfoundland and Windsor, Ontario. Chuck served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean war, returning to Windsor for college. He retired as a Logistic Analyst from Land O Lakes, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Gloria Sundell and his sister, Karen Christoferson of Minnesota. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Esther, son, Scott (Karen) Sundell of Indiana, daughters, Susan (Jim) Schurman and Stacy (Mike) Winter of Minnesota, grandchildren, Amy Sundell, Michael Sundell, Jake Schurman and Grace Winter. He is also survived by sisters, Barbara (Loren) Lucke, and Patricia Sundell of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Gloria Sundell of Windsor, Ontario as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather with Chuck’s family at 2 PM Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the chapel at The Community Lutheran Home, 111 Church Avenue, Seymour, Indiana 47274. Pastor Nathan Janssen will officiate. Arrangements entrusted to Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN 47274.
