Ladies Aid 3 of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour met Aug. 21.

Pastor Philip Bloch introduced Wendy Oesterling, director of development for Bethania Kids. She gave an informative and descriptive presentation of the orphanage that was started 30 years ago in India. It celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017. Bethania continues to grow, and 100 percent of all contributions are given directly to the orphanage.

President Jane Pardieck opened the meeting after the presentation. The group sang Verse 1 of Hymn 748 and read in unison Psalm 67.

Sharon Klakamp gave the secretary’s report and had roll call with 20 members present. Rosalie Grabinski made a motion to accept the minutes, and Carlana Able seconded. The motion passed.

Grabinski gave the treasurer’s report, and it was accepted as reported.

Carol Hill reported for the nominating committee. Officers for 2019 will be president Linda Kamman; vice president Ann Mahan; secretary Klakamp; and treasurer Grabinski.

The group will travel to Derby Dinner Playhouse on Sept. 19, meeting at the south parking lot at 10:30 a.m.

Sue Foster and Linda Kamman reported of their shut-in visitations for July and Hill and Sandi Helwig for August.

Helwig gave a report on the booths for the Nov. 3 craft show. Both gyms are full, and spaces are still available for the hallways.

The Christmas party will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 18. It will be in the fellowship hall and will be catered.

Stadium cushions are being considered as a possible fundraiser. More details will be available at the October meeting.

Mahan reported the display case has been set up in the history room and encouraged members to view it. This year is the 100th anniversary of Ladies Aid 3, and the group has donated the case in honor of the occasion.

Members are reminded to bring mites to the October meeting.

Hostesses for August were Kamman and Able.

The meeting closed with Verse 3 of Hymn 748 and the Lord’s Prayer.
