SEYMOUR

Monday evening, September 24, 2018, Betty Beatrice (Lee) Freshour graduated to glory. She was reunited with her husband, Jake Freshour, on the fifty-eighth anniversary of their wedding. Jake preceded her in death in February 2003. She was 79 years old.

Born July 29, 1939, in Helm Mississippi to Charles Owen and Ruth Bertha Howington Lee, Betty was the youngest of 14 siblings, all of whom preceded her in death: Ray Charles Lee, Robert Lindsey Lee, Hubert Louis Lee, Joseph Cecil Lee, Jack Virgil Lee, Bertha Vay (Lee) Pelezo, James Terry Lee, Charles Owen Lee, Jr., Anna Belle (Lee) Stewart, an unnamed brother who died at birth, Thomas Aaron Lee, Mary Frances Lee, and John Wiley Lee. She is survived by her sons, Rob (Donna) Freshour of Brighton, MI, and Tim (Deb) Freshour of Seymour, and her daughters, Stephanie (Brian) Nickel of Lexington, KY, and Veronica (Jack) Arthur of Bryan, OH. She was very proud of each of her 10 grandchildren: Tracey, Haley, Jacob, Lauryn, Bethany, Jonathan, Joshua, Caitlyn, Colt, and Connor. She also adored her five great-grandchildren: Emmalynne, Alexia, Braelynne, Evangeline, and Judah. In addition, Betty and her immediate family have been deeply enriched by her cousin, Annette (Benjamin) Ray, and her nieces and nephews: Beverly (Clay) McWilliams, Richard (Darlene) Stewart, Robert Stewart, and Royce (Carolyn) Stewart, Jr.

Betty was a long-time and active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour. She was retired from a distinguished career in nursing. She enjoyed reading, Bible study, visits with family and friends, and watching her favorite TV programs: Jeopardy and select programming on Daystar and TBN.

Friends and family may call during visitation on Friday at 4:00-7:00 PM at Voss and Sons Funeral Service and on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 29. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Pastors Dan Defriece and Rob Freshour will be officiating.

Memorial gifts may be made either to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, the Lutheran Community Home, or the donor’s choice through Voss and Sons Funeral Service.
