SEYMOUR

Violet E. Ozbun, 90, of Seymour, died at 6:35 a.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. She had been ill for 1-1/2 years. Violet was a member of the Haleysburg Church of the Nazarene. She retired in 1987 from Panasote.

Violet was born on March 22, 1928 in Washington County, IN to the late Clarence and Mae Bowers Temple. On November 13, 1947 in Oatsville, IN she married James Ozbun and he survives in Seymour. Together they had 2 daughters, Marsha (Larry) Jones of The Villages, FL and Robin Armstrong of Seymour. Other survivors include a sister Louisa Jackson of Medora, a grandson, Chad Jones and great grandchildren, Jackson Dewar and Cora Violet Jones.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Haleysburg Church of the Nazarene, 10232 N. Haleysburg Road, Vallonia, IN 47281. Rev. Steve Silence will be officiating. Friends may visit at the church Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Haleysburg Church of the Nazarene.

Violet enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, quilting and baking. She had also been a Wheatonware Dealer. She could play the accordion and the piano by ear and enjoyed many years of singing with her sisters. Violet’s biggest love was her family and spending time with them.
