Michael Payne gave the dinner invocation.

President Leroy Davis II called the reunion to order. Eunice Lacey read a poem, “God Hath Not Promised Skies Always Blue,” in memory of Jack Riegh, Loretta (Davis) husband, son-in-law of Leanord and Rosie Davis, great-son-in-law of Maudie and Alvin Murphy; Frank Webster, husband of Joann (Emily) Webster, son-in-law of John and Northolena Emily, great-grandson-in-law of Maudie and Alvin Murphy, Gina (Hougland) Wells, daughter of Ervina And Mary Lou Hougland, granddaughter of Gladys and Myrton Hougland, great-granddaughter of Alvin and Maudie Murphy.

The 2019 officers are Davis, president; Roscoe Peacock, vice president; Sundra Leahigh, scrapbook chairwoman; Lacey, secretary and treasurer; Betsy Ackeret, Robert Peacock and Karen Davis, refreshment committee; and Julie Shunney, Sue Payne and Loretta Riehl, entertainment committee.

JoAnn Webster will buy flowers for the grave of Maudie and Alvin Murphy around Memorial Day.

It was voted to continue having the reunion next year with a basket dinner at 1 p.m. Aug. 25 in the church annex.

The program committee gave prizes to the oldest present, Roscoe Peacock II, and traveling the longest distance, Janet Manger. Small gifts were given to everyone present. Jessica Shunney sang some songs accompanied by her guitar.

The rest of the day was spent reminiscing about the days of going to Grandma and Grandpa Murphy’s house in the country, looking at pictures of the past and taking pictures.
