“Joe Strong” night planned

Seymour High School will recognize hall-of-fame coach Joe Goodman for “Joe Strong” night at half time of Friday night’s football game at Bulleit Stadium against Floyd Central.

During “a minute for Joe,” recognizing Goodman’s fight against cancer, donations will be collected in his name for the Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.

After donations are taken, all former players and coaches will take to the track to have a photo taken with coach Goodman.

A limited number of T-shirts, with the old Owls’ logo, will also be sold during the event. Cost is $15 for youth to men’s extra large and $18 for plus sizes.

The pink jerseys that the Owls have worn the past two years for the annual cancer game will also be up for sale. Parents will have first priority in buying their players’ jerseys, but any leftovers will be up for sale to the public for $25.  All proceeds will go to the cancer center.
