Book sale to benefit library Friends group

The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library used book sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room of the library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.

The sale is a week later than usual due to the Labor Day weekend.

A special Friends-only preview of the sale is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday. Due to the change in Saturday hours, there is no longer an early sale for members on Saturday.

During the final two hours of Saturday’s sale, the “everything-a-bag-can-hold-for-$3” is in effect.

Regular prices are $1 for adult hardback and softbound books; 50 cents for children and young adult books and paperbacks; and $2 for DVDs.

Donations of gently used books, movies and music are welcome to help stock upcoming bimonthly sales and the ongoing sales at Seymour, Crothersville and Medora. Donors may drop them off at any checkout desk during library hours and request a receipt if desired.

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend (or renewing membership for 2018) will find forms at the sale, at the checkout desk or online. Annual dues are $5 for individuals, $10 for family, $25 for donor and $50 for benefactor.

The next bimonthly sale will be Nov. 3.
