Mrs. Mildred Kiel, 102, of Seymour, passed away at Lutheran Community Home on Thursday, August 2, 2018. She was born in Seymour on December 6, 1915 the daughter of Walter and Clara (Kriete) Ahlbrand.

She graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and Seymour High School. On July 5, 1936, she married Gerald Kiel; he preceded her in death in November 1995.

She was a farm wife in her early years and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Jonesville. After they moved to Seymour, Mildred again became a member of Immanuel Lutheran where she was a member of Ladies Aid 1 & 2. She was active in various church and community organizations; volunteering at the Community Care Center, Lutheran Community Home and Heritage House. She retired from Tiemeier’s Jewelry Store after 25 years of enjoyable service.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Doris Jane (Gary) Doyle; son, Dan (Karen) Kiel; grandchildren, Joe (Angie) Doyle, Pam (Rick) Knotts, Narci Kiel, Julie Kiel, Lori Kiel, Karrie (Randy) Boatwright; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Louis, Chester, Armin, Hobert, Glen, and Dale Ahlbrand; and sisters, Doris Greene, Roberta and Bernice Ahlbrand.

A Memorial Service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, August 6 at 1 pm with Revs. Ralph Blomenberg, Philip Bloch, and Jimmy Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.

Family and friends may call at the church from 11 am until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be written to Immanuel Lutheran School, Trinity Lutheran High School, Lakeview Ministries, Lutheran Community Home or Charity of Choice, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
