Upcoming fundraiser to benefit local family

Visitors to the Jackson County Fair can stop by Marshall Memories’ fair booth in building 3 this week at the fairgrounds in Brownstown to learn how to help support the Tormoehlen family from Vallonia.

Shane and Katie Tormoehlen are the parents of Bryce and Kinley Tormoehlen, both of whom have been diagnosed with cancer.

There will be a banner available for people to sign and give well wishes to the family and pages for children to color for Bryce and Kinley. There also will be t-shirts for sale and donations for the upcoming Tormoehlen Strong Dinner/Auction fundraiser can be dropped off. Also tickets for the fundraiser will be available to purchase. Cost is $25 each or $200 for a reserved table of eight.

The Tormoehlen Strong Dinner/Auction fundraiser will be at 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at Pewter Hall, 850 W. Sweet St. in Brownstown.

Live musical entertainment will be provided by the local band Bad Medicine. Happy hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with the meal beginning at 6 p.m.

Premier DJ’s Drew Storey will be the master of ceremonies for the evening and Klosterman Auctioneering will be conducting the auction. There will be both a live and silent auction.

Anyone wanting to donate items for the auctions can call Julie Wischmeier at 812-525-7921.
