The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour met June 26.

President Paula Stafford called the meeting to order. There were 17 members present.

Members brought their wedding pictures. Carolyn Bruce took pictures of groups of eight and nine behind the table.

Stafford gave devotions from the book “Chicken Soup for the Soul.”

Judy McDonald read the minutes, which were approved. Betty Guinn gave the treasurer’s report and read a thank-you note for flowers from Brenda Goss.

Bonnie Koontz had no report on sales, and there were no cards or flowers sent.

Under old business, the cookbook idea was discussed. There was little interest since so many old ones are left.

Neil Gardner and Tom Stafford are working on a sound system for the fellowship hall.

The unity celebration One Night, One Light will be July 20 through 22. Six volunteers are bringing three dozen cookies to the office prior to the event.

Janice Brock asked Loyal Devoir if it would buy two pump pots for the kitchen. Barb Bentley made the motion, and it was seconded. The motion passed.

There is no meeting in July. The August meeting is a pitch-in picnic. Members are to bring their spouses.

Carolyn Bruce urged everyone to send Faye Jackson a card because she isn’t well.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction, and refreshments followed.
