SEYMOUR

Bette Joan Mangels, 79, of Seymour, passed away at Schneck Medical Center on July 6, 2018. She was born April 14, 1939 in Vincennes, IN to Elmer and Geneva Catt Reitmeyer. She married Hersey G. Mangels on August 23, 1959 in Vincennes. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who was dedicated to her family. She worked in banking for many years. While in Vincennes, she was employed by Security Bank and Trust. After moving to Seymour, she worked at Seymour National Bank, retiring in 2002. After her retirement, she worked part-time at Jackson County Bank until just recently. She loved working at the banks. She also enjoyed driving and shopping, but her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley Ann Reitmeyer; and brother, Bud Reitmeyer.

Surviving to cherish her memory are husband, Hersey; her children, Scott and Janice Mangels; her grandchildren, Molly and Emily; her brother, Dan (Lisa) Reitmeyer; and sister-in-law, Linda Reitmeyer.

Friends may visit with Joan’s family from 9 am until service time at 11 am Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, Indiana 47274 with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg, Pastor Philip Bloch and Vicar Coleman Geraci officiating.
