Virginia “Johnny” Nora Taulman, 88, of Columbus, died unexpectedly at 2:16 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at her home.

Virginia was born February 23, 1930, the daughter of Fred and Nora Vornholt Rotert.

She married Wayne Nelson Taulman, Sr. on December 24, 1947. Together, they enjoyed 70 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2018.

Mrs. Taulman was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Borchers. Virginia preferred to be outdoors where she could enjoy mowing, weed eating and farming. She will be remembered as a classy woman who spoke her mind, loved her family, valued humor and worked hard to provide for those she loved.

Survivors include her children, Wayne (Pamela Joan) Taulman, Jr. of Columbus, LouAnn (Jesse) Wyatt of North Vernon, Sandy (John) Wyatt, Marcus (Pamela) Taulman, both of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter, Laynuh Wyatt; sister, Doris Conrad; son-in-law, Jim Day, both of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; daughter, Carol Jane Day; grandson, Clinton Wyatt; and great-grandson, Braden Wyatt-Lucas; brothers, Arnold, Fred and Dave Rotert; sisters, Ruth Petrunak, Ruby Lang and Betty Weber-Manuel.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Borchers, 10792 N. C.R. 210 E, Seymour, IN 47274, with Pastor Stephen Wood officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery — Borchers.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church — Borchers.
