The Tribune collecting school supplies for kids

The first items have been placed in the school supply distribution box in the lobby of The Tribune, 100 St. Louis Ave., Seymour.

You are invited to help us collect school supplies to go toward the Jackson County United Way’s Rock’n Ready initiative.

The top five needs are dry erase markers, 1-inch three-ring binders, scissors (blunt and sharp), pencil boxes and backpacks.

Other items needed include No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, Elmer’s gluesticks, folders, pencil bags, notebooks, rulers, square erasers, red, black and blue ink pens and loose leaf paper.

A drop-off box also is at Pizza Palace, 832 W. Tipton St., Seymour. All supplies donated there will be doubled by the restaurant.

Items will be accepted through July 18.
