Programs for adults planned at Brownstown Public Library

Three programs for adults have been planned for this month at the Brownstown Public Library, 120 E. Spring St.

The Adult Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. July 13 to discuss “My Louisiana Sky” by Kimberly W. Holt.

The club provides an informal, congenial atmosphere for patrons 18 years and older to share their literary interpretations of the current book selection. Everyone should read the selection but may attend even if they haven’t finished the book as long as they don’t mind hearing how it ends. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussion, but listeners are welcome.

Light refreshments are served by individuals from the group on a volunteer basis. Extra copies of the book selection are available one month in advance at the library circulation desk.

Karen Raymer leads the program.

A free class about Facebook will be from 10 to 11 a.m. July 14 at the library.

Participants, who will need to bring their own device, will learn how to sign up, find friends, add pictures, write a post, comment and other activities. The class is limited to four.

A class about making a painted rock garden will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 19. The cost is $5, and the class is limited to 10.

Registration for the classes is required and may be done at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 812-358-2853.
