SEYMOUR

Mr. Joseph S. Clarke Jr., 80 of Seymour passed away peacefully on Saturday June 30, 2018 with family by his side at IU West Hospital in Avon.

Born February 4, 1938 in New Albany, IN, he was the son of Fannie and Joseph S. Clarke, Sr. who both preceded him in death.

On December 28, 1957 he married Nancy Carol Taylor.

Joe was a member of Cornerstone Community Church. He was a 1956 graduate of Seymour High School and attended Indiana University South East. He was a veteran of the US Army. He retired in 2005 from Rolls-Royce Corporation in Indianapolis. Previously he was a sales manger for Cosco Inc. in Columbus. He was co-owner along with his wife of the A & W Drive-In Restaurant in Seymour. He also owned the AMC / Jeep Dealership, was an executive vice president of the former Fidelity Federal Savings & Loan, and was a real estate broker in Seymour.

The Lord blessed Joe and Nancy with two beautiful children, son Douglas J. (Cheryl) Clarke and daughter Gina Carol (Robert) Plummer. The blessing continued with the birth of 6 beautiful and talented grandchildren Megan (Mike) Dolsky, Zachary Plummer, Taylor Clarke, Lucas (Alaina Thornton) Plummer, Tess Plummer, and Faith Plummer. He was blessed with great grandchildren Benjamin Dolsky, Gabriella Dolsky and Riley Plummer.

He is also survived by his brother Ronald (Sue) Clarke.

Arrangements are entrusted with Voss & Sons Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for August.
