People living in and around the Seymour community will have the chance to reduce their risk of having cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and other chronic, serious conditions with affordable screenings July 19 at Seymour First United Methodist Church at 201 E. Third St.

Life Line Screening tests are performed by experienced professional sonographers using Doppler ultrasound technology, according to a news release from Life Line Screening of America LLS of Independence Ohio. A board certified physician reviews all results before they are sent to individual screening participants in about 21 days.

Screenings can check for:

• The level of plaque buildup in your arteries, related to risk for heart disease, stroke and overall vascular health.

• HDL and LDL cholesterol levels

• Diabetes risk

• Bone density as a risk for possible osteoporosis

• Kidney and thyroid function, and more

Screenings are affordable, convenient and accessible for wheelchairs and those with trouble walking.

Packages start at $149 but consultants will work with you to create a package that is right for you based on your age and risk factors.

For information regarding the screenings or to schedule an appointment, call 800-640-6307 or visit lifelinescreening.com/community-partners.

Pre-registration is required.
