Owls finish 6th in conference

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County defeated Seymour 4-1 in the fifth place match of the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament on Friday.

Seymour’s lone victory came at No. 1 singles, with Grace Otte picking up a 6-1, 6-4 win.

The Owls finish the regular season with a record of 7-7. The IHSAA will release sectional draws on Monday evening, with the postseason tournament commencing on Wednesday.

Owls run-rule Lancers

Seymour totaled 19 hits in a 17-3, five-inning win over Edinburgh on Thursday.

The Owls (9-11) scored eight runs in the second, four in the third and five in the fourth inning.

Haley Mobley led the Owls with four hits while Tori and Kate Snook each totatled three. Eight different Owls recorded a double in the game.

Mikayla Moore earned the win in the circle, pitching five innings and recording seven hits, five strikeouts, two walks and three runs.

Seymour hosts Madison on Monday.
