Panthers best Owls

CORYDON — Corydon Central scored three runs in the third inning to help get past Seymour 7-4 on Tuesday.

The teams were tied at two after one inning before the Panthers tacked on another run in the second to take the lead.

SHS walked the first three batters in the fourth inning, so the Panthers took advantage by pushing as many runs across home plate.

Each team scored a run in the sixth inning. Seymour added another in the seventh inning, but a comeback wasn’t in store.

Both teams finished with eight hits, with Takumi Nishiwaki, Alan Perry and A.J. Boshears each collecting two. Boshears and Perry had doubles and Ty McCory hit a triple in the game.

Jayden Brown took the loss on the mound for SHS, tossing three innings while giving up six runs (five earned). Hunter Ahlbrand pitched the final three innings for SHS.

The Panthers (6-4) snapped a four-game Owls (7-3) winning streak.

Seymour will host Columbus North on Thursday.
