George E. Forrest

Mr. George E. Forrest, 87, of Seymour, left this world to return to his wife and family on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was born in Seymour on March 15, 1931 to the late Earl and Elizabeth (Bryant) Forrest.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday at 12 noon with Rev. Ray Skilles officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday at 10 am until time of service.

He was married to Ethel McDonald, who was the mother of Ronnie and Kathy. On April 4, 1959, he married Margie Lynch; she preceded him in death on July 7, 2006. He retired as a foreman from Warehouser after over 40 years of service; he then went to work for Hagger Distribution, where he also retired as a foreman. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Indiana and Illinois.

He is survived by his children, JoAnna Cox, Virginia Galvan, Benny Lee Hammond, George Forrest, Jr., Jeffrey Forrest, Ronnie McDonald and Kathy Prevatt; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Forrest and Jerry Forrest.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie Forrest; granddaughter, Jamie Engelking; great-grandchildren, Jessie Brown and Brandon Engelking; brother, Earl Forrest, Jr.; and sister, Alice McKinney.
