A special American Red Cross blood drive is planned in honor of Jonah Kreutzjans from 2 to 7 p.m. April 17 at Sand Creek Elementary School, 1450 W. County Road 500N, North Vernon.

Jonah, a first-grader at the school, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in June 2016. He has received blood transfusions on a regular basis and may need more as treatment continues.

Donors of all blood types, especially type O, are needed to help those relying on blood products.

To donate or make an appointment, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 800-733-2767.

A previous Red Cross blood drive for Jonah resulted in 74 donations.
