Event raising funds for Autism Speaks

0

An Autism Speaks fundraiser is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Walnut Street Parking Lot in Seymour.

Anyone interested in paying $25 to write a name on a puzzle piece decal on a go-kart is invited to attend.

People also can get a picture with the driver, Collin Voss, and the go-kart.

Those who buy two puzzle pieces will be entered into a raffle to win a National Wild Turkey Federation mini bike. Single tickets for the raffle also will be available for $25.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting solutions across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.

The event is being organized by Thorne Grigsby and his family with support from the Voss family.
