Cougars, Tigers open season

Trinity Lutheran and Crothersville opened their 2018 seasons in a tri-meet at Hauser on Monday.

On the boys side, Hauser won with 62 points, Trinity Lutheran scored 42 and Crothersville totaled 27.

Noah Hoskins won both the shot put and discus on the afternoon, with throws of 37-feet, 2-inches and 117’11” for Crothersville.

Reid Kruse won the 100 in 12.30-seconds while AJ Goecker (2:13.1) took the 800 and Tyler Goecker was first in the 200 (25.20) for Trinity.

Trinity also won both the 4×800 (9:45) and 4×400 (4:01) relays.

In the girls competition, the hosts won with 60 points while Crothersville (32) and Trinity (26) followed.

Rachel Onken won the shot put (90’5″) and 200 (31.10), and Hannah Sabotin was first in the 400 (1:09.36) for Trinity.

The lone first place for Crothersville was in the 1,600, with Grace Wilson winning in 7:02.
