A Seymour woman was arrested on several drug-related charges including dealing in heroin after a traffic stop.
Columbus police officer Drake Maddix stopped a vehicle driven by Caitlin A. Rhodes, 24, of 301 Highlawn Ave., Seymour, at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday near Carrie Lane after observing a traffic violation, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Maddix spoke to Rhodes and determined she had a suspended driver’s license, Harris said. During a search, officers found heroin, methamphetamine, prescription medication and drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale, inside Rhodes’ purse and vehicle, Harris said.
Rhodes was arrested on preliminary charges of:
- Felony dealing in heroin
- Felony possession of heroin
- Felony possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Driving while suspended with a prior conviction
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Rhodes was being held in lieu of $167,500 bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
