The Jackson County Drug-Free Council recently announced the annual application process for grants to reduce substance abuse in Jackson County using funds in the Community Drug Fund has begun.

Grant applications must address at least one of the three problem statements: Misuse/abuse of alcohol by youth and adults; abuse of controlled substances, including illegal drugs and medications, by youth and adults; or pregnant women and babies adversely affected by the use of heroin and/or methamphetamine.

Categories are prevention/education grants, treatment/intervention grants or law enforcement/justice grants.

Applications are available online at drugfreecouncil.org or via email by contacting coalition Director Brenda Turner at [email protected].
