Book discussions planned at county public libraries

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more this month at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries.

The groups are open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement. The books are available to check out at library checkout desks.

The Tuesday Night Book Club meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Members will discuss “This is Not Over” by Holly Brown on March 13 at Steak ‘n Shake, 1640 E. Tipton St. in Seymour. Janet Hensen, information services assistant, leads the club. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Registration is required for this program. Fantastic Fiction will discuss “The Blue Bottle Club” by Penelope Stokes at 11 a.m. March 16 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St. Led by Julie Lingerfelt, head of adult services, this group meets on the third Friday of each month. Check out a copy of the book and pick up a copy of the discussion questions at the checkout desk.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets the third Wednesday of each month, will gather and share their thoughts on “Dreamland” by Sam Quinones at 6 p.m. March 21 at the library, 120 W. Main St. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library.

The Medora Library discussion group will meet at 6 p.m. March 26 to talk about “The Spymistress” by Jennifer Chiaverini. This group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the library, 27 W. Main St. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library.
