The Seymour Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Indiana in Operation Pullover’s Blitz No. 93.

The blitz, which begins Friday, includes increased patrols for dangerous driving around St. Patrick’s Day, March Madness and spring break for students.

Seymour police officers, working overtime, will be looking for dangerous driving, including motorists who are distracted, following other motorists too closely, making unsafe lane movements and numerous other dangerous driving infractions.

Officers working this overtime traffic safety detail are paid with a grant from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

Chief Bill Abbott encourages anyone witnessing dangerous driving to call 812-522-1234 and provide the direction of travel, description of the vehicle and license plate number.
