Members of the Seymour High School choirs attended the Indiana State School Music Association State Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday at Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis.

Of the seven entries from Seymour High School, five were awarded gold medals and two were awarded silver medals in their respective rooms. Also, one soloist earned the new and coveted gold with distinction award.

That award went to Jason Walker. Others earning gold medals were Morgan Boas, Kelsey Baker, Bryce Hatton and Ella Andres.

Silver medals went to Bailey Blake and the Seymour High School chamber choir.

Director Kyle Karum said all students performed well and were given written feedback by the judges.
