Braves wrap up conference play with win on road

PEKIN

Limiting Eastern (Pekin) to one point in the first quarter, Brownstown Central built a 12-point lead and coasted the rest of the way Friday night in capturing a 52-29 win on the road.

The victory moved the Braves to 15-6 on the season, and they finished 7-2 in the Mid-Southern Conference.

Brownstown led 25-13 at halftime and then held Eastern to single digits in each of the final two quarters.

The Braves had balanced scoring with Michael Boshears and Braden Neal each putting up 11 points, including a trio of 3-pointers apiece, while Seth Borden added 10 points.

Eastern’s only double-figure scorer was Matt Coats with 10 points. The Musketeers finished 2-7 in the MSC and dropped to 6-16 overall.
