Ralph “Hank” Altemeyer, 74, of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. He was born in Seymour on November 16, 1943 to the late Russell and Pauline (Oathout) Altemeyer.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, February 16 from 4-8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday at 10 am with Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. Burial will be at Robertson Cemetery at a later date.

Hank was a kind and generous man who loved life and was always on the go whether golfing, playing cards or Bingo, or enjoying a night of dancing. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed following the Cubs, IU basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. He was a graduate of Cortland High School, class of 1961. He served in the National Guard. He was a member of KofC, VFW Post #1925, Order of the Moose Lodge #418, American Legion Post #89 and Coffee Creek Conservation Club where he enjoyed shooting trap.

He is survived by children, Scott (Diane) Altemeyer and Lisa (Ron) Zike; grandchildren, Kati (Matt) Vance, Jacob Zike and Lucas Zike; great-grandchildren, Kayci and Hazel Vance; sister, Mary Jo (Jack) Morris and mother of his children, Becky (Hardesty) Ames.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Ethel Altemeyer and Ralph and Jesse Oathout; parents; and step-mother, Katherine (Ramp) Altemeyer.

Memorials may be written to Honeytown Christian Church or charity of choice, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
