Garden Club meets for Christmas party

All Seasons Garden Club recently met at Stream Cliff Farm near Commiskey for its annual Christmas party.

Special guests were Karen Clark, friend of Rita Wischmeier; Kathy Cummingham, sister of Becky Hackman; Deborah Curmutte, sister of Brenda Turner; and Richelle Kovener, daughter-in-law of Sandy Kovener.

Prior to the dinner, Jean Barkman read the Christmas story. Club members exchanged gifts and made a donation to HOPE Medora Goes Pink.

Favors were miniature bird houses that were decorated for winter by Hackman and Barkman, who were co-hostesses. Recipients for the door prizes were Joan Thompson and Turner.

Following the party, the group toured the home of Gerald and Betty Manning. A special feature of the 1836 home was a mural of the history of Stream Cliff Farm with a decoration theme “It’s a Santa Christmas.”

The March 5 meeting will be at Turner’s home with Karen Lanam as co-hostess. It will be a salad and dessert pitch-in.
