28-year-old Seymour man wanted on intimidation with deadly weapon, battery charges

The Seymour Police Department is requesting the public’s help in locating a 28-year-old man they believe was involved in an incident Thursday afternoon that left a woman seeking medical treatment.

Jathon Donavan Phillips of Seymour is wanted on charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, battery, visiting/maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, Detective Sgt. C.J. Foster said Monday.

Those charges have been requested by city Officer Michael Payne, who investigated the incident reported by Schneck Medical Center in Seymour after the woman went to the emergency room for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident, Foster said. Police received that report at 12:46 p.m. Thursday.

The incident itself actually occurred at Knights Inn on North Sandy Creek Drive on the city’s east side.

Phillips also is wanted for questioning on his involvement in multiple additional criminal investigations.

Intimidation with a deadly weapon is a Level 5 felony punishable by one to six years in prison upon conviction.
