Tickets are now on sale for the third annual Fur Ball.

They are $40 per person, $70 per couple or $275 for a table of eight. They may be purchased at This Old Guitar Music Store in Seymour or Brownstown Veterinary Clinic in Brownstown or by calling Michelle Stephens at 812-216-9258, Debbie Hackman at 812-525-9367, Heather Davis at 812-525-3078 or Anthony Walker at 812-569-0095.

The event is set for 6 to 11 p.m. March 3 at Pewter Hall, 850 W. Sweet St., Brownstown. It will feature dinner, dancing, a cash bar, music by TOG Band, a silent auction and a live auction. Donations are now being accepted for the auctions.

The Jackson County Dog Shelter committee also is doing a 50/50 raffle of a FosTecH Origin 12 shotgun. Tickets are one for $20 or three for $50. Only 1,500 tickets are being sold. The drawing will be during the Fur Ball, but the winner does not need to be present to win. The winner will be responsible for all applicable taxes and fees.

The committee has raised $115,582.64, or 57 percent of its $200,000 goal. It has $84,417.36 remaining to build the shelter near the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.

To make a donation to help build the shelter, stop by the Community Foundation of Jackson County, 107 Community Drive, Seymour, or call 812-523-4483.
