Brownstown fall to Blackhawk

A four-peat isn’t in play for Brownstown Central.

Class A No. 5 Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian posted a 75-65 win against Bronwston Central in the semifinals of the Graber Post Buildings Classic tournament on Friday.

The Class 3A No. 8 Braves fell behind 21-7 in the first quarter and trailed 40-23 at halftime.

BC (6-2) stormed back in the second half, getting as close as eight points in the fourth quarter.

Brownstown outscored Blackhawk 19-16 in the third quarter and 23-19 in the final eight minutes of play.

The Braves made 22 field goals in the game, and half of those came from 3-point range.

Michael Boshears led BCHs with 22 points, Caleb Bollinger chipped in 12 and Ethan Wischmeier scored 10.

The Braves will face Loogootee in the third place game today at 6 p.m. Loogootee beat Clay City in the first round before falling to Class A No. 1 Barr-Reeve in the semis.
