Loyal Devoir Society November Meeting

The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour met for the November meeting.

Paula Stafford called the meeting to order welcoming 18 members and thanking Group 2 for the decorations and hosting the meeting.

Loretta Riehl gave devotions on the “Harvest Theme” comparing the modern way of combining grain to biblical times.

The minutes from October were read and approved. Betty Guinn gave the treasurer’s report, and it was approved.

A thank-you note was read from Pastor Yee and Katie for the gift basket. Salesperson Bonnie Koontz was scheduled to have a sale Dec. 10 with Retia Murphy helping.

Stafford thanked everyone for baking cookies and the ones who served them for “With Freedom’s Holy Light” on Nov. 11.

The group’s Christmas dinner was set for Dec. 5 at The Pines Restaurant with Will Smith providing entertainment.

Stafford thanked Lucy Dembek for purchasing utensils for the kitchen. New trays for the warming unit are needed as well as more silverware.

Riehl and Lois Gueder will work to get the 2018 officers. Janice Brock and Helen Horton will audit the books.

Stafford led the group in mixing points to make Christmas bulbs.

The meeting adjourned with the Mizpah Benediction. Refreshments followed.
