Owls finish 2nd at tourney

EVANSVILLE

Seymour placed second of 10 teams at the Evansville Memorial Tournament on Saturday.

The Owls finished with two first-place finishes, four seconds, four thirds and two fourths.

Isaiah Pichardo (106 pounds) and Owen Chandler (113) were both tourney champions.

Second places went to the Owls’ Nathan Banister (126), Brandon Penegar (145), Zack Newton (152) and Dorian Borom, while Kevin Corrales (195), Gabe Ramirez (285), Jacob Rotert (160) and Colton Hensley (132) all finished third.

Alejandro Sachinas (182) and Chandler Drummond (138) both placed fourth.

Indian Creek were champions with six first places. Other teams in the competition included: Evansville Central, Memorial, North, Harrison, Bosse, Crawford County, North Knox and Wood Memorial.

The Owls travel to Madison today.
