State Road 235 will be closed for event


The Indiana Department of Transportation has issued a permit to the town of Medora to close State Road 235 on Saturday for the southwest Jackson County community’s annual Christmas festival and parade.

Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., State Road 235 will stage the holiday parade between County Road 275 and Washington Street.

Participants will line up on State Road 235 north of town and advance along Perry Street through Medora, moving west on County Road 275, south of Jackson Street, east on Riley Street and back to State Road 235 on Perry Street.

Motorists will be routed around the event via County Road 275S, Jackson Street, Riley Street, David Street, Second Street and Mill Street.

Food and craft vendors plan to be open for business by 9 a.m. Saturday.
