The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour met Oct. 24.

The meeting was opened by President Paula Stafford. There were 19 members present.

Stafford thanked Janice Brock and her group for hosting the meeting. Halloween-themed decorations adorned the tables.

Helen Horton gave devotions on “Changing of the Seasons” and how our lives also are changed.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

Betty Guinn gave the balance in the treasury and read two thank-you notes. One was from Bob Dembek thanking the group for the donation to Mental Health America of Jackson County, and the other was from Retia Murphy for flowers.

Salesperson Bonnie Koontz said the Oct. 5 sale at the church brought in $300. Brock helped her. The next sales will be Nov. 12 and Dec. 10.

Brock and Lucy Dembek will buy utensils for the kitchen later.

Annette Waldkoetter and Lois Gueter will be in charge of the gift basket for Pastor Ben.

Mike Sentz asked Stafford if the group would make and serve cookies and lemonade for With Freedom’s Holy Light at 7 p.m. Nov. 11. The group was asked to bring three dozen cookies each to the church. Waldkoetter, Horton and Gueter volunteered to serve.

A reception for Jon Carlstrom was set for Oct. 29 after church.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
