Crothersville honors fall sports athletes

CROTHERSVILLE

Crothersville High School recently celebrated its 2017 fall sports season with its season-ending banquet.

Grace Wilson was named was named most valuable runner for the girls cross-country team.

Wilson, a freshman, won the Southern Athletic Conference race and qualified for the Brown County regional and semistate. She was the first runner in Crothersville history to both win the SAC and qualify for semistate as a freshman.

Piper Hensley was named most improved runner and was selected to the All-SAC team along with Wilson.

On the boys team, Lane Wienhorst was named most valuable runner. He qualified for the regional and was All-SAC this season.

Noah Hoskins took home the mental attitude award, and David Rose received the most improved award to go along with his All-SAC honors.

Maddie Riley took home a handful of awards for her efforts on the volleyball court.

Riley received the mental attitude, serve reception and hitting awards.

The Tigers’ Makayla Helt brought home trophies from both cross-country and volleyball.

Helt was given awards for serving and setting in volleyball and mental attitude for her running.
