Simpson competes in junior event
Keaton Simpson, a senior at Seymour High School, shot 153 (80-77) strokes to tie for 33rd in the Indiana Golf Association Hoosier Junior Championships this past weekend at Otter Creek in Columbus.
Kasey Lilly of Plainfield placed first with a one-under-par 143. Ben Szkladek of Granger and Clay Stirsman of Carmel tied for second with 144s.
A total of 81 golfers competed.
Trinity Lutheran gets 2nd straight win
Trinity Lutheran jumped out to an early 7-0 lead Friday against host Edinburgh, and the
Cougars pulled away for their second win of the year — and their second straight — 36-16.
The Lancers bounced back from the early deficit to take an 8-7 lead after the first quarter, but Trinity Lutheran scored two more times in the first half en route to the win.
