A fish fry is set for Saturday at Whistle Stop, 2379 S. Main St., Vallonia.

Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fish dinners, including two sides, will be available for $7 and sandwiches for $4.50. Desserts are extra.

This is a fundraiser for the Joe Jackson Hotel restoration project. Fish fries are conducted on the second Saturday of the month during the warm-weather months.

Once again, the hotel will be open during Fort Vallonia Days on Oct. 21 and 22. Committee members also will have a booth set up in front of Whistle Stop selling homemade cobbler.

The hotel dates to 1914 is listed on both state and national lists of historic structures.
