The Jackson County Public Library and Jackson County Clerk Amanda Lowery are partnering for National Voter Registration Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the lobby of the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

The Crothersville Library, 120 W. Main St., will have registration forms available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Medora Library, 27 W. Main St., will have registration forms available from 2 to 6 p.m.

To register, people must be U.S. citizens, present a driver’s license or state identification card and must be 18 by the next Election Day (May 8, 2018). This is a free service.

Started in 2012 for the presidential election, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right — the right vote.

Americans can register at hundreds of events across the nation and online at nationalvoterregistrationday.org, which is a nonpartisan group website.

Registration also is available at indianavoters.in.gov/PublicSite/OVR/Introduction.aspx?Link=Polling.
