The Jackson County Public Library offers Paws to Read featuring George, a standard poodle, as the guest of honor.

This free 30-minute program was created with struggling readers in mind to help build confidence and increase fluency when reading aloud, but literacy skills of all levels are welcome.

The program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade is at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 7 and 21, Oct. 12 and 26 and Nov. 9 and 30 at the library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.
